Myriad Team

Richard Whateley
Chief Executive Officer
Find Out More
Richard became CEO at The Myriad Centre in April 2018. Over the following five years he has led the charity through a period of financial stabilisation and operational restructuring and has steered Myriad through the effects of a world-wide pandemic. Richard will now lead the charity through a considerable development phase by ordering a three-year strategic plan. He was formerly a children’s charity CEO and more recently, has led service development with a national ‘taskforce’, which brought together leaders and influencers from the Healthcare, social care, education, employment, and housing sectors, to explore ways in which to improve the lives of young people with life-shortening conditions, as they transition to adult services.
“Leading Myriad in our goal to support and care for people with PMLD in our area, by delivering the best possible service, is the most satisfying role of my career. Experiencing, first hand, the joy we help bring to our clients is undoubtedly the highlight of any day.”

Patricia Terry
Facilities & Contracts Manager

Her career has expanded and diversified over time, into operational and increasingly strategic roles. She was employed for several years for law firms as Business Support Manager for clinical negligence and conflict management.
Patricia is an Associate Member of CIPD and supports all HR process and procedures, in addition to operations, project management, financial accountability and strategic drivers.
“I consider it a privilege to work at the Myriad Centre and am continually humbled by the dedication, care and love shown by our Care and Support Team for the work they do with all of our clients.”

Helen Broadfield
Client Care Development Manager
Find Out More
After my personal recovery from a brain tumour in my 30s, I started my career in health and social care in 2009 in domiciliary care. A year later, I joined Myriad as a support worker, and this ignited my passion for enabling people with Learning Disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. I became a team leader with an alternative service for young people with PMLD and was promoted to service supervisor, then later to Service Manager. My journey since then has come full circle! I have gained a degree in Applied Health and Social Care at The University of Worcester, and I am now absolutely thrilled to return to Myriad as Client Care Development Manager. I remain as dedicated now to the values I held when I first joined Myriad – making the experience for our clients fun, whilst protecting their safety and dignity. I am very excited to help lead the continuous improvement of our service and to be a part of the wonderful community here at Myriad.
