For the people we support with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), change can be challenging. That’s why our team has created a visual social story to help explain the move in a clear, reassuring and accessible way.
The story shows what moving means, what the new centre will look like, and gently prepares individuals for things that may feel different. Just as importantly, it reassures them about what will stay the same, like the familiar staff, the support they receive and the care they can rely on every day.
As a centre of excellence in communication, we believe everyone has the right to understand what is happening and to feel safe and supported through change. While the location may be new, everything that matters at Myriad remains the same.
