Week 9 brings us two action signs that work perfectly together!
This week we’re learning STAND UP and SIT DOWN – essential movement signs for daily activities.
STAND UP – helps people communicate when they want to get up or need assistance standing
SIT DOWN – allows people to express when they want to sit or need help getting seated
Why these signs matter: These action words are incredibly practical for people with PMLD! They can communicate their physical needs, ask for help with positioning, or express their preferences about where and how they want to be. These signs promote independence and ensure comfort throughout the day.
They’re also great for following instructions and participating in group activities – understanding “sit down” or “stand up” helps people join in with everyone else.
